The sessions saw 650 underprivileged local villagers consisting of both adults and children receiving food aid and daily groceries. 50 volunteers from Malaysia\, South Korea\, Singapore\, and the Philippines joined hands together with various local ethnic and religious groups to make the program a success. \n  \nMain organiser\, GHCA co-Founder and Secretary\, Ric See Swee Poh\, said that there is no distinguishing between nationalities\, skin colours\, religious groups\, and ages when it comes to charity. “Each overseas charity campaigns held will bridge the gap between different communities. A smile would bring everyone together even if we have language barriers\,” Ric further elaborated\, while thanking all the volunteers who were present in both sessions to help out in the food aid distribution. \n  \nA collaboration between GHCA\, Taishan Global Solution\, and Project Pearls\, the first session was held at Scoulla Della Gioia Red Day Care\, Tondo\, while the second distribution session was held at Baseco area of Tondo. \n  \nAt Scoulla Della Gioia Red Day Care\, 350 beneficiaries received food aid consisting lunch meals\, biscuits\, noodles\, and dried food. Being in Tondo\, which is considered the biggest slum in Manila\, most of the vulnerable groups there make a living by scavenging recyclable resources at dump sites. \n  \nMeanwhile\, at Baseco\, 300 beneficiaries received daily necessities consisting of water buckets\, rice\, noodles\, biscuits\, canned foods\, and breads. In poverty-stricken Baseco\, local men would mostly be engaged in charcoal production whereas women typically harvest garlic to make a living. Most of the locals are of low-income salary and has an average of 3 children per family. \n  \nFirst time Overseas Union Charity Program participant and GHCA volunteer\, Tan Mew Wai\, commented her gratefulness for the opportunity to personally lend a hand helping to these underprivileged groups. “Despite their harsh lifestyle\, the locals are full of smiles and friendly faces\, and are not embarrassed to welcome us just because of their extreme poverty condition\,” said Tan further. \n  \nSince launching the Overseas Union Charity Program in 2012\, GHCA President\, Franky See Swee Choy said that in addition to helping disadvantaged groups in Malaysia\, GHCA also hopes to see cooperation between overseas non-profit organisations\, various agencies\, and enthusiastic corporate groups that will help contribute towards charitable programs for vulnerable groups without border. \n  \nGHCA’s Overseas Union Charity Program is privately funded by volunteers and participants of the program and are being held annually at Myanmar\, Cambodia\, Thailand\, and the Philippines. Activities conducted include distribution sessions of food aid\, daily necessities\, reading materials\, cleaning and painting tools\, as well as setting up computer labs and playground. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_column_text]耕心慈善协会旗下的耕心海外布施活动日前在菲律宾马尼拉举办2场慈善活动，发放日常用品及食物给与当地650位贫困的人士，当中包括小孩及大人。参与策划及执行的耕心义工分别来自马来西亚，韩国，新加坡，及菲律宾，部分国籍种族及宗教，共同为爱心伸援。 \n  \n自2012年发起海外布施活动的耕心慈善协会主席徐瑞财指出，该协会除了帮助马来西亚的弱势群体，也希望海外有需要的弱势群体能受惠，也藉此链接海外的非盈利组织，非政府组织及热心公益的公司团体，一起为慈善贡献。目前，海外布施活动每年固定在缅甸，柬埔寨，清迈及马尼拉举办1次，曾经办过的活动有赠送食物，发放日常用品，赠送阅读刊物及文具，清理及粉刷校园，提升学校设备如设立电脑室及游乐场，及其他布施的活动。 \n  \n这一场的布施活动由耕心慈善协会与 Taishan Global Solution 及 Project Pearls 联合举办，第一场的活动地点在 Scoulla Della Gioia Red Day Care\, Tondo。这场受惠的人数一共有350，包括小孩，家庭主妇和老人。主办单位分发他们简单的午餐，饼干，面食及小吃。这一区属于垃圾的堆积区，受惠的弱势群体多数以捡垃圾为生，进行分类及售卖可循环的资源。义工在分发食物时，他们都很有秩序的列队领取食物，并且很热心的主动接触义工，在破冰的环节里还和义工一起唱歌跳舞。 \n  \n第二场的活动在 Baseco\, Tondo，受惠的家庭一共有300 户。主办单位布施的日常用品有水桶，米，面，饼干，罐头，和面包。住在这一区属于贫民居住的地方，男的从事制造火炭工作，女的以拨蒜头为生，收入非常的微薄，加上一个家庭平均至少有3位孩子。首次参与海外布施活动的义工邓妙慧表示，很感谢有这个机会能亲眼接触及帮助这一群弱势群体，毕竟在马来西亚是没有弱势群体居住在卫生恶劣的环境里面，也见识到他们的热情及正面。虽然生活困苦，但是他们的脸上总是充满笑容及满足，不会因为自己的困境而表现出尴尬与害羞。
