What is Great Heart COVID-19 Relief Aid?
The Great Heart COVID-19 Relief Aid (GH-CRA) is a way of helping those who are struggling during the COVID-19 season, specifically the B40 group as well as those undergoing treatment for chronic illness. With many having lost their means of income due to the Restricted Movement Order (RMO), we want to offer aid so that people can get back on their feet.
What is B40 group?
B40 group are persons that falls in the bottom 40% income group from the country’s population.
How can I be eligible for the GH-CRA?
This aid is offered to Malaysians aged 18 years old and above from B40 households, OR if you are undergoing medical treatment from chronic illness (dialysis, cancer, etc). Do note that this aid is for one member per household only.
I know someone who is eligible, can I apply on their behalf?
Yes! You will need all the documents and information required from the applicant and help them to fill in the application form. Also, the bank account number provided will have to belong to the applicant so that we can transfer the aid to them as soon as it is processed and approved.
What if the person does not have a bank account, or access to the internet?
Priorities will be given to eligible applicants who can furnish all required documents online via our submission channel. Those that do not provide all required information or documents will be put on a waiting list to be decided upon by the management should there be any leftover fundings available upon disbursement to approved applicants.
Can I apply via WhatsApp from the helpline number or via email instead?
Our helplines and email are dedicated to cater to enquiries from those who need clarification on aid details. Applications and supporting documents are to be submitted ONLY via our official online form to speed up the approval process. Submissions via all other channels will automatically be rejected.
How do I apply/what documents do I need?
The forms and information needed can be found in this Google Form, which you will also have to fill up upon application.
I do not have a pay slip, can I still apply?
You may provide alternative proof of income documents such as EPF statement, EA form, or pension slip. Alternatively, you may also submit other proof of being in the B40 category, such as PPR rental green card, JKM or BSH letter. Consideration will also be given to those with proof of chronic illnesses, including (but not limited to) hospital/treatment receipts and illness documentation.
Do I get notified whether I got selected for the aid?
If your application is successful, you will be notified by email OR by SMS, at the phone number/email you provided during registration.
What is the aid amount given?
A one-time RM200 relief aid will be given to approved applicants via bank transfer.
Can I request for a donation in-kind instead?
As the RMO is still active, cash via bank-ins are the quickest way that we can get aid to you. Do feel free to purchase groceries and goods online with the cash as the finances will be banked to your account via online banking.
If I am non-Malaysian, can I still apply?
No, unfortunately. To be eligible for the GH-CRA, you would have to be a Malaysian citizen aged 18 years old and above with a blue IC.
How long do I have to wait before receiving aid?
The aid will be released from 9th April (Thursday) onwards.
How will the money be given to me?
As the RMO is still active, the money will be transferred via online banking.
Is there a deadline for my application?
Applications will be closed either on 5th April 2020 (Sunday), or once we hit 500 families due to funding limitations, whichever comes first.
Why cash donations instead of relief in-kind? What if people misuse the funds?
The RMO has greatly affected the B40 group, as many have lost their jobs. From small hawkers to those paid by the hour, the B40 group, along with those paying for treatment for chronic illness, have lost a lot. We believe that cash is the most effective way to help. We trust our beneficiaries to utilise these finances for good.
