KuayMok San suffered from hypertension and diabetes. Uncontrolled diabetes led to kidney failure and he is now undergoing dialysis in WazLian dialysis center. He was working in the plastics industry and bought a house with his EPF funds. His wife died, leaving him with four daughters and a son. The girls are married with their own families. Cindy, one of his daughters and his young son stay with their father. Cindy, 26, who has a six year-old daughter works as a hair stylist with a monthly income of RM1000. The youngest son, 17, works in the game industry earning RM800 a month.
Since their family only own a second-hand motorcycle, Kuay Mok San takes a taxi, to the dialysis centeraccompanied by his daughter. The General Hospital has submitted his application to Socso. Meanwhile, Tzu Chi provides a RM50 subsidyfor each dialysis session, pending the approval from Socso to lighten the burden of his medical expenses.
