Situation
Lam Suet Ying lives in a government flat, but at the age of 72 suffers from high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and had a stroke twice. As she needs to undergo dialysis three times a week, the monthly cost of dialysis is a heavy financial burden for the family. Their only source of income is from her 42-year-old son who is working in a steelworks factory. His wife works part-time for a low pay and their 15 year old son is still in school.
A dialysis patient should pay special attention to the food they eat, not to let the food bring unnecessary burden to the kidney. At times, injections to raise the hemoglobin are needed at an extra cost. This is an extra burden even for families without financial worries.
Our Support
Great Heart Charity Association will provide financial support to Lam Suet Ying to help cover the high cost of dialysis treatment of RM 720 per month up to four month continually.
