Situation:
Due to loss of strength in his leg, he had a fall 5 months ago (Feb 2015), when he woke up at night to use the bathroom. He was rushed to hospital and told he had suffered a stroke which left him immobile and unable to perform daily functions. His wife died a few years ago, leaving him to support his 3 children with his earnings as a hawker. As there’s nobody to take care of him at home, he was sent to a nursing home where he has received treatment, therapy and acupuncture under their program. The monthly living costs at the Nursing Home is quite high but a relative has paid for his expenses. A Good Samaritan sends his children to school and provide free meals.
How We Helped:
The children may have been left unsupervised due to his illness. When Great Heart Angels visited his family, they found the children to be difficult and unhelpful. Their father is sick in bed yet, he worries about them. Great Heart Charity Association will provide monthly living cost subsidy support to this family as well as provide counseling to encourage positive behavior which emphazises self-discipline, care, respect and responsibility.
